Is there anyone who can walk me through the steps of setting the "path" and compiling a java program?
I've tried several tutorials and none of them were specific enough.
Every time I go through the steps, It says "javac is not recognized as a internal or external command"
I've downloaded every thing I need to make my own Java code!
Here's the address to the tutorial I'm using;
http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/getStarted/cupojava/win32.html

Thank you in advance.

Okay if you're using windows 7

go to control panel

--> System and Security

--> System

on the left hand side there is Advanced System Settings -- open it

click on environment variables

click on the first "New" button

for variable name. put Path

variable value : open the bin folder in the jdk1.7 or whichever one you're using

right click on any file and open properties

copy and paste the location in to the variable value and you're DONE!

In the worst situation do the following:

1. Goto command prompt.

2. Goto C:\Program Files\Java\JDK1_6xxxx\bin (This is the directory where Java is usually installed)

3. Just type javac at the command prompt. If you have installed JDK, this will certainly helps you.

If some thing is going incorrect, this technique ought to objective to resolve the region itself earlier giving up and committing suicide.
