Tech Guru: I'm learning Python3 using the Terminal, Emacs, sublime. Xcode it taking up a bunch of GB that I would like to have, about 3 or 4 GB. Are these apps dependent on Xcode or can I dump it for now. Thanks.

None of Python 3, Emacs or Sublime require Xcode.
If you are doing everything from the Terminal and have not done so install the Command Line Tools from...
This will give you access to the compilers etc from the Terminal. You can the delete the Xcode app. You can always reinstall it if you find you need it.

Those programs are not dependent on XCode, however using XCode has improve my experience with the Operating System.

4GB of space that you 'need'...? What kind of hard drive you have, three floppies in a RAID or what? by the way, if you try to remove xcode it will complain about dependencies if any other program needs it.
