ive been learning HTML, and getting more precise using &# on special characters so my apostrophes and parenthesis are rending correctly.

i started using some HTML arrows and glyphs too, and came across a page of unicode and HTML arrows.

http://character-code.com/arrows-html-codes.php

now what is unicode? i found a page that is about a mile long, but a summary would be nice and if there's any practical use for it designing html/pages.

Unicode is a code once input into something like HTML, outputs an image/letter etc e.g. if i hold alt and type 145 i get: æ That is unicode.

There is a great page for you, "What is Unicide?"

http://unicode.org/standard/WhatIsUnicode.html

I know it looks confusing. I had trouble getting it until I did my first two. They have keyboard combinations to let anyone put in non-standard fonts and special formats readable by ALL computer systems. .
