I am trying to make a HTML file in notepad that will take me to a website of my choice when the file is clicked on, do I just paste the URL into notepad and name the file what I want with the HTML extension on the end, or do I have to put something before the website URL in the notepad file to make it take them to that specific page?

These are standard links. Just add your own URLs and link content:

Making an image a link:

Text Description

Text Link only:

Link Text Description

You can change the "p" tags to div tags and style as needed to make a nice div container for links.

Your file has to support HTML. You should read tutorials about this, there are plenty on the Internet.

Your file will look something like this:

My links

Link 1: Google

Link 2: Yahoo!

In HTML, most tags have an open tag and close tag. For example, the hyperlink tag () has a closing tag ().

Once you write this in a text document, save it with a .HTML extension then you can open it in any browser (Firefox, IE, etc.).

Good luck!

Well, you have to use an anchor tag.

I am the link text.
