I'm trying to set up my wordpress account to install my own theme, but when I modify the wp-config file it asks me for 4 "names" : db hostname, username, and password. I know those three, but I don't know how to find out my wordpress database name. please help!

You need to create Mysql Database from your Hosting Control Panel.

1) Login to your hosting account.

2) Look for MYSQL Database and Create a database.

3) Now you know your database name.

For installing Wordpress you can follow the below step-by-step article,

You need to log into your hosting if you haven't made on. There should be a side bar with Admin powers and you need to create a MySQL Database on a LINUX machine. This is very important, WP only works on Linux. Secondly, if you already have the database made, go to the same place as before and look up the database (there should be a database description too) an you can get all of the information there. If you have any questions in the future, save your points and just email me through my profile, I'll be glad to help you.

considering which you basically have one database, table naming is extra important, considering which you have gotten extra applications that require a database. Wordpress tablenames start up with wp_ so as that could desire to become attentive to those tables for you. do no longer call the database itself with some thing it incredibly is common to verify. comparable with the password. call it some thing it incredibly is identifiable to you. do no longer use your internet site call, userid or password the two.

What she said.

When you create a database, usually through your host's control panel, you set the name, the username, and the password for it. Those are the names you need for wp-config.php.

For the database you need to make a database yourself.
