Absolutely not. Its true that C# is becoming more widely spread but C++ is not an abandoned language.

C++ is an extraordinarily commonly-supported language. So is C but it is older. GCC for example is a move-platform language which has robust capabilities to put in or reinstall as a compiler for the ARM chip, the mobile chip like in playstation 3, the percentlike within the older Macs and so forth. That is why Linux which depends upon it's broadly used by stock exchanges and the national safety agency. C is most broadly used at the present time for programming drivers and embedded devices. Linux itself makes use of it generally considering the fact that Linus Torvalds prefers it, nonetheless the executive advantages are programs compiled with it have a low overhead and footprint and it has the capability to logically model any device -- which is what GCC exploits. C++ has a greater footprint and overhead however namespaces and object-oriented programming can also be robust tools. Visual normal is still most often for the windows working method, and it is going to stay that manner. In the event you work in a Microsoft best store then it'll be a big abilities, but the truth is, there are developing reasons to not be a Microsoft-handiest keep (the overhead of Vista is way an excessive amount of for say, snap shots packages and we are coming into a recession). REALBasic (which you can look up in case you are interested) helps visual common syntax however i would advise in opposition to it. I'd nonetheless suggest Java, which can be a cross-platform language supported via both sun Microsystems and the Free application groundwork (the GCC individuals).

C++ programmers get more than double the rate of ASP. PHP. Mainly bigger software companies can afford it.

I would't say so lots of video game companies like Bugie use C++ and are looking for programmers.
