Im trying to figure out how to edit an html webpage project for school. I open the terminal on my mac and use the: ssh -l (hostname) (username) command and then enter my password to login but whenever i use the: emacs command it displays this message:

emacs: Terminal type xterm-color is not defined.
If that is not the actual type of terminal you have,
use the Bourne shell command `TERM=... export TERM' (C-shell:
`setenv TERM ...') to specify the correct type. It may be necessary
to do `unset TERMINFO' (C-shell: `unsetenv TERMINFO') as well.

Can anybody help me out? Thanks in advance!

You bang your head off the screen then exit Emacs and type vim {filepath}/[filename]

Emacs is God's editor.

Vim is editor God.

TextEdit comes with constructed-in to all Macs; you'll uncover that within the Applications folder. To edit an html dossier, do not double click on on it for it'll open your browser through default as a substitute. Right click on and prefer Open With and select TextEdit because the software to edit it. Be certain to not have a examine at the field that claims to open this software or program through default or you'll now not be equipped to open stored shortcuts. If you've got Microsoft Word, you'll additionally use that. If now not, you'll continuously down load the unfastened OpenOffice phrase processing software to have a greater phrase processing / html editor software. Good good fortune and I desire this is helping.

Michael is probably one of those users that could never figure out Emacs. I prefer Emacs and hate Vim.
