You could try something like Google Sites which is free and has templates to help get you started. The ones that aren't free usually have templates and they allow you to use your own domain name (something.com). There are also content management systems (CMS) like Joomla that you could use if you want more advanced features, and the paid hosting sites will usually set you up with them and then you can customize them. The W3C site can provide you with more info if you want to actually learn how to write your own code.

Domain registration and web hosting are two separate things. You can get a domain from places like GoDaddy and then host it anywhere (lots of hosting sites are only a few dollars a month and they are ad-free that way where free ones will usually put ads on your site). If you register it yourself you will save some money and you can take it with you if you end up switching hosts.

There are a lot of website companies that offer "click and build" FREE websites if you google "free website".

On the surface these totally free website building companies look great. However there are problems with them. The biggest one being your domain name. You will only be offered a sub-domain e.g. www.yourdomain.freewebsitecompany.com

There are others issues regarding the hosting of your website a well. With it being free the hosting will not be great and you could soon run out of bandwidth and disk space.

I was in the same place as you are about a year ago. I researched the whole web design industry and have now discovered the best free website software on the market and also found the best hosting companies.

I have written a FREE .pdf eBook "How to make your own website in under 15 minutes" which will explain in an easy to understand, step by step tutorial, how the beginner can design their own website and it will only cost you £3.48 a month. There is no design or coding to learn, just clicking your mouse.

Web pages can be built offline and for free using simple Microsoft notepad or any other text editor. First you would need to learn two simple programming languages, html – how to build web pages, and css – how to add styling, (colours, fonts etc). Then you need to buy a domain name (couple of quid for 2 years) and some web hosting (about three quid a month). The pages can then be uploaded to the hosting company’s server using free ftp (file transfer protocol) software such as filezilla and the site is live. Avoid the free sites at all costs - they don't rank well in the search engines, meaningno visitors. For a guide to getting started in web design try http://www.freewebtutorial.co.uk

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex: www.yahoo.com). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BH web hosting which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.

They also offer "Free Site Builder" that helps you build your web pages without difficulty if you are not skilled in using any website creating program. (WYSIWYG: What You See Is What You Get) You can use this service optionally. You can also create the pages offline with your favorite program (DreamWeaver, FrontPage, Microsoft Publisher, etc.), and then upload them to your web host. This is another easy way to get your website online.

well you can download software so you can make a website like Dreamweaver for example but that costs money, even tho there are ways to find it online for free but another alternative is learn HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language). its not that hard once you get the hang of it but it does take a little time to do.. if you want to know what your in for then do this...

Right click on whatever website your on...Click on View Page Source..This will show a bunch of words in symbols and everything.. so lets say you are on yahoo.com and you click on view page source.. all those words etc.. is what you need to write to get your website to look exactly like the yahoo.com website.. haha it seems like a lot and it is somewhat but you'll get the hang of it.. if you want a quick way to learn it go to youtube.com and type how to make a basic html website tutorial and there you go and follow the tutorials.. or if you dont want to do all that then hire someone to make the website for you, but thats no fun! learn the html code.. its easy after a while and basic. once you make your first website you will be proud of yourself that you made a website i know i was when i made my first website.. oh and when you make your website a easy editor to use is a program called Notepad or Notepad++... Notepad is automatically installed on your computer and basically its kind of like microsoft word. anyways have fun and good luck!

a good step by step guide to learn html..css..etc. is www.w3schools.com

If you are going to begin a industry, do NOT use unfastened templates until you wish your corporation to seem handiest 3rd-cost. My boyfriend began his possess industry and I REFUSE to permit him to make use of unfastened templates. Either you will have to study methods to create your possess templates in case you wish your corporation' internet site to seem no less than part method respectable or pay anybody to make one for you. But do NOT use a unfastened template for that. Free templates are excellent for individual internet sites however now not for industry internet sites.
