Should I use word or excel program?

I have to do a paper for my bio class and it needs several sections. The top part has to be a paragraph across the full width of the page. Below that has to be typed into two even columns. In those two columns I have to insert a table and a line graph. Which Program is best for this type paper and some suggestions as to how to set it up and get the table/graph in the paper.

You can use either program, both will work if you know what to do, of course.



I would use word because it is what I use mainly, although MS Word has its set backs..especially with tables (can be real pain at times while creating many of them for testing purposes)



If its one table, MS Word will probably be the best option.



If you're using Excel I recommend you you merge cells together where you want your paragraph to be and center it, to make it look nice.



then simply add your graphs/tables below.

1. Create your graphs in Excel, using a chart wizard to convert your statistics to a graphical form

2. Open Word and input your paragraphs

3. On a new line, select 'Table / Insert / Table...

4. Set columns to 2 and rows to 1 and press 'OK'

5. By left clicking and holding on the table lines, you adjust the gap of the row

6. Copy and paste your graphs into the left and right cells

Both.

Make the table and graph in excel

and type the rest in word.

You can directly copy the table and graph from excel into word, without any issues.



Hence everything will end up finally in word

hmm, i've had projects that were alike, but I usually just use Microsoft Word, because you can add grids and excel stuff in that too. Excel also calculates really confusing math so it's good for finances. But if it's just a school project word would be the best choice. Unless its a university-level math project D: Good luck ;)
