I want to insert a whole music clip that will be continuous throughout the entire show, not just one slide in particular. How would I do this? Thanks for the help.

Display the slide to which you want to add music or sound effects.

On the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds, and then do one of the following:

Insert a sound file

Click Sound from File, locate the folder that contains the file that you want, and then double-click the file.

Insert a sound clip from Clip Organizer

Click Sound from Clip Organizer, scroll to find the clip that you want, and then click it to add it to the slide.

Note To search for clips in the Clip Organizer, fill in the Search for box, and then click Go. To get more information about finding the clip that you want, including details about finding files by using wildcard characters and about adding your own clips to the Clip Organizer, click Tips for finding clips at the bottom of the task pane.

Double-click the sound file that you want to insert.

When a message is displayed, do one of the following:

To play the music or sound automatically when you go to the slide, click Automatically.

To play the music or sound only when you click the sound icon , click When Clicked.

To adjust the settings for when the sound file stops, click the sound icon , right-click, and then click Custom Animation.

In the Custom Animation task pane, click the arrow on the selected item in the Custom Animation list, and then click Effect Options.

On the Effect tab, under Stop playing, do one of the following:

To stop the sound file on mouse-click of this slide, select On click (the default).

To stop the sound file after this slide, select After current slide.

To keep the sound file playing for several slides, select After, and then set the total number of slides the file should play on.

The following from Microsoft Office online might help you out. If you use the Help menu from Power Point, it can lead you to what you are looking for.

It seems that you can only use a CD to play the entire song, at least at just a quick glance, that is what I found.

To set up tracks, insert your CD into the CD drive of the computer. On the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds, and then click Play CD Audio Track. You'll see the options shown in this picture.

The settings shown mean that this CD would start at track 1 and stop at the end of track 10, which you might want for a self-running show.

The CD won't play through all the slides automatically, though. It works with the same sound settings you've been using in the Custom Animation task pane. So, you need to tell PowerPoint that the sound should play over a certain number of slides, just as you did in Lesson 1.

The CD will stop when the show reaches the end of the last slide it’s specified to play through. If the show is set to loop, the CD will resume with its first programmed track when the show restarts.

After you select tracks, you're prompted to choose how to start the sound (automatically or by mouse click). After that, a CD icon shows up in the middle of your slide.

Notes

You won't be able to do anything about the silence between tracks on your CD; it will still be there. But maybe you have one long track that fits the length of your show. You can specify just that one track (you'll do this in the practice).

If you want to play different tracks of the CD on different slides, keep using the Play CD Audio Track command to "insert" the sound, and set up the track and timing you want for that slide. There is no automatic way to time your CD to your slide.

You can set tracks to play for a certain number of minutes or seconds of their full length.

you will desire to acquire the video to the pc, by way of USB or FIREWIRE (in the adventure that your camcorder would not record to DVD or SD playing cards), then utilising action picture Maker, you will desire to shrink the section which you truly decide directly to function on your presentation. Its truly person-friendly, i do it each and all the time for my artwork.
