I'm interested in learning how to program robots, and python looks simple, but the only thing that the official website shows is how to add text like "Hello World" So is it possible to program a robot to walk using python? If not, does anyone know any simple languages to program robots? Thanks

The credit card sized Raspberry Pi computer is designed as a programming teaching aid, and Python is one of its main programming languages. The Pi has a general purpose IO header to allow users to interface it to their own hardware, which could include a robot if you feel like building one.

The Pi costs around £30 in the UK, which I guess is less than $50 US. Its power requirements are very low, requiring around 3.5 watts at 5 volts.

You should be aware that Python code tends to be interpreted rather than being compiled. This can make it somewhat slower than code that is compiled to run in native mode on the target hardware.

You might also look at the Asuro robot by Arexx Engineering. This device is programmed in the C language, and the kit includes the compiler for Windows and Linux systems.

I hope this helps.

Of course you can use Python.

NXT-Python is a Python driver / interface for the Lego Mindstorms NXT robot. Read more about it here:

you ought tochronic with the OD on for the appropriate gasoline mileage, and OD off for somewhat extra pep and much less gasoline mileage. OD on, you're in a extra robust kit, OD off, you're in a decrease kit.
