I'm building my website and my host is through godaddy.com.
I'm using Filezilla.com to transfer my files to godaddy.com's server.

On Filezilla.com, it says:

Please select the file appropriate for your platform below:

Windows:
FileZilla_3.2.4.1_win32-setup.exe (recommended)
Windows XP and Vista are supported

or..

Linux:
FileZilla_3.2.4.1_i586-linux-gnu.tar.bz2

Which do I download?

Thanks a lot for helping.

Well, what Operating system do you use on your computer? Windows or Linux?

If in the lower left corner of your desktop it has a button that reads "Start", then you have windows ;-)

---- I assume you will try Filezilla to upload your website files (pictures, html pages a.s.o) to Gooddaddy.com.

The files are on your computer and need to be uploaded to the webserver. So in order for Filezilla to be able to run on your computer, it needs to be for the right version of OS you run on your computer.

It does not matter what the hosting company runs. FTP is a protocol (like a language) that both, linux and windows understand, so a windows machine with a windows version of filezilla can easely talk to an ftp server running on a linux server.

The really smart thing to do is go with what is recommended!
