I think you are talking about Watermark pictures.

--Insert a picture and size it as you wish. (Sizing is done by grabbing the squares at the edges and pulling them around.)

--Right-click on the picture and choose Format Picture...

--Optional but perferable: On the Picture tab, look for "Image control" and "Color" under that. Use the drop-down arrow at the end of the Color line to change it from Automatic to Watermark. (You can adjust the contrast and brightness just underneath there.)

--On the Layout tab, click to make the picture "Behind text".

--OK to save these changes.

--Right-click on the picture again. A couple of new items have been added to the menu by you choosing "Behind text"

--Choose Order and then "Send Behind Text" to be able to type over the picture.

You have to activate the HEADER / FOORTER sections under the View menu, then simply position an image whereever you want.

Under normal circumstances, this image should appear in you background of all pages. If the image is too dark, Word has tools to brighten the image, making your text easier to read.

Good luck!

You are all wrong.

Go to Top Menu:

Format--> Background ---> Fill Effects.

Fill Effects -> Click on picture tab.

then -> Select Picture.

Ensure your picture has pixel size similiar to a word document.

(8.5" x 11" letter - 600 x 775 pixels) -> Edit IMAGE SIZE in Photoshop or related.

Done.

I am not quite sure what you are exactly asking. Do you want to have a background image to your report?

If so, go to format>background>fill effects. Go to the last tab, picture, and browse to your picture, hit ok, and your good to go.

Right-click on inserted image in a document and choose it's properties. Then ask it to be background to text, then press "More" button and adjust it's width, height and position.
