How can I create a website?

I would like a create a website but the quote I got from a company doing this work was quite on the higher side. Can anyone show me how I can do one myself or is there any one out there who can create it for me for free?. I want to use it for the Church.

There are a few things to consider when creating a website. One of course is design. Hiring a firm to design and create a website can be expensive, often because the design firms wants to offer you a unique custom design; which is more expensive.



One option to avoid the higher cost is to choose to create your site from a template; the trade off of course is that your site design won't be "unique" but in my experience that only matters if your visitors also happen to visit the other sites that are also using the same exact template you used (which of course is highly unlikely)



The second thing to consider is how easy it will be to update the site; most people who create websites want to keep the information on the site current (and that is also good for SEO). Perhaps for your church site you will want to keep a calendar of events, post latest news, write and share inspirational stories amongst other things. To do this the website must be easy to edit and in a programming language that you know or you will have to higher and pay someone to add the content if it is not easy for you or another person in your church to do.



There are a couple of ways to create a website and keep costs low while also making it easy to update. You can use a blogging platform like wordpress.com or blogger.com. Another way is to use a site creation software like websitesupandrunning.com which is more like using MS Word or you can learn a CMS like Joomla.org.

If you want to use a domain name specific to your website, then first you should buy a domain name.

Then find a hosting provider that will host your web site.



But perhaps you can start using free CMS and Blogging tools in order to get used to web technologies.



Perhaps you can get a free account from WordPress and search for customized themes which will best fit to your content. There are many plug-ins or applications that you can add to your WordPress web site.



After you think that you have found the best web design, if you want you can carry your website to a professional hosting firm like GoDaddy, etc.

just type, "how to create a website" on google. and you'll get the answer. creating a website is a time consuming task and unless one is too nice to do it for a church, no one will make you one for free. as it has domain costs and additional maintenance costs attached to the string

It is a good website for making your own website, It's free if you leave the name in the url



for instance www.church.webs.com



if you leave the webs part in there it's free



but if you want it changed to this

www.church.com



then you have to start paying the website for the domain.
