Garry's MOD Gameinfo.txt missing?

Question

Right i was playing it about 10 minutes ago but i came out of the game, it installed a patch i think and now it wont open due to this 'gameinfo.txt' being missing
anyone know how to fix? :/
also, i tried creating a new one of this file using a code i found on google, but it locked singleplayer

I also get:



Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in subdirectory 'garrysmod' Check your -game parameter or VCONFIG setting



They will have a fix for this shortly, most likely. .... we hope :P



P.S it is GMOD only (i think)

no longer purely do you should personal Counter-Strike source, you should mount it to Garry's Mod. At start up-up, there's slightly controller icon on the bottom-top nook, that lists all the mount-in a position video games and also you purely click the bins next to the video games you opt for to mount.

Having same thing singleplayer options menu dosnt load up when you select single player. Multiplayer shows server list etc, but when you join a server load bar comes up the dissapears again. just dosnt seem to connect. This happened after the mini update we just had.



I love steam but they do tend to bollox things up alot lol.

I just got that update 15 minutes ago too, at least I'm not alone, I'm glad at least I know why its happening now, we have to leave it to Steam to fix it. Now I wonder what the update and validation was all about.



UPDATE: Steam fixed it! that didn't take long. lol



UPDATE2: Never mind they haven't fixed it yet, just says servers are too busy to update and it tries to verify, but no fix yet.

So, what? Steam screwed up Gmod? I have this exact same error, but all of my other Steam games work just fine.

As of now it is broken you can only play multiplayer since its in beta I believe.



And no servers are updated to the patch, so we have to wait for them to patch up.



It sucks :(

ive found that going to steam right clicking gmod and going to properties then clicking local files then verify integrity of game cache works
