Not really. However, employers can be picky since they don't understand it themselves. I would say you know it, at an intermediate level, and buy a book (assuming you get the job).

SQL is a programming language with a number of implementations. Two of the most prevalent commercial SQL implementations are from Oracle and Microsoft; your "SQL Oracle" will be Oracle's version, your "SQL server" will be Microsoft's product. The principles and code behind the two are pretty much identical. Where they differ is the way they're wrapped up and used, so like a BMW and a Mercedes both have parking breaks, on the BMW you operate it with your hand and on the Mercedes you use your foot. Visual BASIC is a Microsoft programming language, used (misused in my opinion) in both education and in building in-house applications. The .NET part of the name refers to a set of technologies that Visual BASIC uses and which can also integrate in various ways with Microsoft SQL Server. SQL is used to store data within an application, but it can rarely be used to create an application in itself. Visual BASIC is one technology you could use to create an full application around a SQL database. Oracle does not really have an equivalent of Visual Basic. The two companies do have better programming languages, Oracle has a Java and Microsoft C#, both of which fulfil similar roles and in my opinion woudl be more useful to learn than Visual Basic.
