You will need an etching kit and possibly some design software depending how complex the circuit is. Check the maplin catalogue: http://www.maplin.co.uk/productsearch?criteria=pcb+etching

Also, see these tutorials: http://wiki.altium.com/display/ADOH/Tutorial+-+Getting+Started+with+PCB+Design

http://fritzing.org/learning/tutorials/designing-pcb/

If you're designing a complex circuit, then your biggest problem is converting a circuit diagram to a pcb layout, so you should consider investing in pcb design software.

If your PCB is going to have to be manufactured, or if you're going to be making a lot of these PCBs, you may want to consider using some software to help you design the board. I've included a link for some software below. This will help you to create clean designs that can be machined onto PCBs for you, a machine or a professional to use as a guideline to solder the components onto the board.

PCB View lets you design and export layout files for single-sided, DIY Printed Circuit Boards. You can also export your sketch to Gerber files, and send them to a professional PCB manufacturing service. Once you get to know Fritzing's PCB design tools and functions, creating a nice layout will become easier.

I traced my circiuts on with black nail polish then soaked the pcb in H202 + hydrochloric acid. Then dryed it and cleaned off with acetone. It works really well for small (number components) circuits but for complex circuits you'd better use software print it onto those sheets with laser printer than iron it and do the chemicals as above.

perhaps it makes sense to look at some tutorials before you start.

i would recommend to you the first step tutorials of cadsoft eagle.

think ist very useful for beginners.
