Can someone please help me make a Favicon?

Question

And I need to make it a favicon. In order to do that, it has to be transparent. Can someone please make it transparent and if you can please make it a favicon? (Favicons are 16x16 pixels) PLEASE!

I do not know how to do this in GIMP and that is the reason why I'm asking on here so please can someone help and not just give a reply saying "Get GIMP!"
