Hi,

I'm interested in the idea of programming but I have no idea where to start. I have basic computer skills but absolutely no knowledge in programming. (I'm an Accounting/Finance university student)

Where is somewhere where I can start? Because I'm doing Accounting and Corporate finance as my study at the moment, I do not have the time to get into a different degree. I would like to start with something that free and easy to understand (in a way where I can do self study on). Do I need to download any programs? I would like to do a lot of practical stuff where I can play around and experiment.

In terms of where I'm heading with this idea of programming. I want to be able to develop a website that is fun and interactive.

Thanks.

I don't recommend paying for lessons on a webpage. You should enroll yourself into a Computer Programming class. You would learn language like, C++ and Java. Teaching yourself with a curriculum and other books isn't going to turn you into a great programmer. Perhaps after you are done with degree in Accounting, you could start programming classes.

So, you want to be a computer programmer? It’s a lot easier (and cheaper) than it used to be. When I first started programming in the 90s, I remember having to shell out $300 bucks for a compiler package, and that was the “standard” edition. At the time it was pretty much your only option if you wanted to do C++ programming. A lot has changed since then.

Java or C#. loads of documentation to grant you a good usual be attentive to-how of not basically the language, yet how programming certainly works. on the top of the day you are able to %. regardless of you opt for, basically carry on with it. you're able to determine what you opt for to do with programming. do you're able to make a pastime, a private computing gadget application, maybe a telephone, or an Android app. This selection will straight away impact which language you opt for to check. in case you opt for to construct a pastime, you will maximum in all threat code maximum, if not all, in C++. in case you're able to make an Android app, you will %. Java or C# (C# fee money). a regular very own computing gadget application you have slightly greater flexibility, fantastically plenty any language would artwork, yet C# and Java are the handy innovations in my opinion. you're able to additionally choose to construct an Xbox 360 pastime, a residing house windows telephone app, or a pastime often with C#.
