What Programming Language would be best for me to learn?

I am in college for my computer information technology degree specifically the PC technician concentration and i was thinking about learning some programming outside of the school. I am currently stuck between Visual Basic and Python but i am unsure which route to take, i plan on keeping myself concentrated mainly on a windows environment in terms of my ability but i am willing to branch out to linux and mac someday. I should also mention i have never programmed before except for html but i barely remember how to do it anymore and i am planning on reteaching myself how to do it again.

If you don't know, then none. HTML is a markup language for web development, not a programming language for software development. If you have no specific goal for software development, then how is anyone else going to know what you should learn? If you don't want to be a software developer, then you don't need to know any programming language. Programming is a use-it-or-lose-it skill. If you want to be a serious software developer and do it for a living, then you need to start by learning C++. What you do beyond that depends on your specific goals.

While the visual elements in VB may help you out a little at the beginning, you can develop bad programming practices by learning in VB, and the graphical Windows elements may distract you from learning important basic programming concepts. I think it would be best for you to start with Python.

He possibly looking to say that you simply must gain knowledge of programming methods and common sense, as an alternative than languages. This fairly is predominant, too. For example, being in a position to preserve a talk in 15 human languages doesn't suggest you'll write an extraordinary paintings of literature in any of them; and a fairly good written application is just like a fairly good written ebook, in that it demands to have many components that are compatible in combination in non-noticeable however powerful approaches.

If you want to always develop for windows only, ever: Visual Basic

If you may want to develop for anything else in the future: Python

There is a mono project for VB that lets you run it on Mac/Linux, but if you want to develop for them you're better off with Python.

The easiest languages to learn, and to produce immediate results are scripted language.

Web programming with Javascript will give you immediate results, the output can be displayed increasing richly and there is an enormous reservoir of resources on the net.

So I would go Javascript, HTML, CSS

probably u can go for- c, c++ or java. but before going to learn any one of the programming languages u must learn c. so u should start from c and then go for others. hope u like it.
