Like many people I wondered about hostgator and if they really are as cheap and good like they claim. Scouring the web one day I managed to get lucky! I ran across a code that not only provided me website hosting for .01 but also provided me $100 for Google ads and $25 in Bing/Yahoo ads! Almost immediately after I finished my website I was able to get traffic because of this. The code works with ANY of the packages even the "hatchling plan"

To obtain the discount AND the bonus items use the coupon code "APRETTYPENNY" at check out, no quotes.

eHosting.com are pretty good, they charge £1.99 to host one website and their support is brilliant. They answer questions within half hour. But if you want to go with the crowd then goDaddy.com is probably the most popular.

In my opinion, Amazon EC2 servers are the way to go. If you're just building a website for a hobby or for recreation, I suggest GoDaddy for their cheap prices.
