Is there a piece of software that I can map and plan a website with before I present it to a designer?

I'm not sure what "Flash Dreamweaver" is (haydn). But If you are familiar with Adobe Flash 8 or the older Macromedia Flash MX, either would be a great program to make a nice presentation in. You can either video capture or screenshot your design, import it into Flash, then apply some nice animations, extras, etc.

Hope this helps.

You can use the Tree Diagram option in Microsoft Visio, and I believe there is an option to make the same diagram in PowerPoint.

Hope this helps

The Designer doesn't need that much detail.

Do your page mock-ups in Word / Open Office. Just show the navigation on each page.

TIP: I prefer to use a single row Table for my buttons, that I can paste to each new page.

When i started some ICT work i was prompted to visit

http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

for a free program used to make brainstorms/mind maps/spider diagrams (whatever's politically correct). And i have to say, for a free program, it's really good.

And if you don't like that then there is always:
