First off I'm terrible with computers so please take it easy on me if my question is idiotic.......I'm looking to remove some unnecessary programs and came across three different Java programs that are:

1.J2SE runtime enviroment 5.0 update
2.Java 2 runtime enviroment
3.Java 6 update 13

So I'm wondering if I should keep all three or do I only need to keep one of these Java programs?

Thanks

Not only can you delete them, but you should delete them.

You only need the latest version of Java unless a program specifically needs an earlier version to run. This is somewhat unusual, but if it is necessary to replace them the java site does have earlier versions available for download and installation.

Note: keeping earlier versions of java on your PC can be a security issue.

Link to latest java provided below. Java 6 Update 32.

If you really want to save space, I'd delete all three then only uninstall when you run across an app that requests a java installation. But, be careful what sites prompt you to install java. Only respond to a trusted site.

Uninstalling these programs won't wreck your computer. You just won't be able to use Java programs. You need all three of them to use java programs.

Don't do it. They are important for java working.
