I've installed zpanel on my VPS (Ubuntu 12.04). Unfortunately it comes with PHP v5.3.x I want to update it to latest PHP version available. Or even 5.4 will work.

I updated PHP manually but it broke my virtual hosts. No website hosted on my server worked anymore, so I had to restore my VPS.

Hello

Before you install something on a server, you must make sure it's compatible with your server.

Please read below.

Discover ZPanel Today!

Welcome to the official ZPanel website. ZPanel is a free and complete web hosting control panel for Microsoft® Windows™ and POSIX (Linux, UNIX and MacOSX) based servers. ZPanel is written in PHP and uses several open-source (or freely available) software packages to provide a secure, web hosting system. Learn more…

The ZPanel project consists of team members from all over the world as well as a growing amount of users from the community that have designed and developed both third-party modules, themes and translations for ZPanel.

Ubuntu, like most (if not all) other Linux distributions is not registered as POSIX compliant. However, you can add unofficial POSIX compliancy to Ubuntu to bring it up to standards, if it's not already there.

Advice:

After you install PHP on your server, don't intall it again. You have to make your updates from zpanel, or whatever you choose to use.

Why only 12.04? You can get 14.04 and maybe things will be better.
