Hey,

I'm studying for an exam and I'm finding it impossible to find answers for questions from this past paper. I think if I had the answer, I'd know how to do it...

These are the questions I'm getting stuck on, any questions answered, would be really appreciated!

Database (Questions 1-4)
1)Write the validation rule that ensures the entry of the following data only:

Mr
Miss
Mrs
Ms
Prof
Dr

2)Write the validation rule that ensures the credit limit to customers does not exceed €2000

3)Write a simple input mask that ensures all surnames entered into a database begin with a capital letter & are 10 characters long

4)Briefly explain how you would design a query in Microsoft Access that displays all customers residing in London & whose balance exceeds €500

The Web (Question 5)
5)
Briefly explain the following terminology used during the Design Phase:

liquid page
CSS
frameset
typography
page chunking

Networks (Questions 6-7)
6)Briefly explain 4 fundamental requirements for a secure transaction.

7)Using the Transposition technique, encrypt the following piece of text using key n = 2314

Any help would be really appreciated! Im really stuck, and asking on yahoo was the last solution I could come up with! Thanks!

I am assuming that you are using Access and what you need to do is strictly follow the questions rather than do the job the best way it can be done.

If this is so then your database answers are below.

A1. [fieldname]="Mr" Or "Mrs" Or "Miss" Or "Ms" Or "Prof" Or "Dr" (this would however be easier completed as a dropdown list)

A2. [fieldname]=<=2000 (don't forget to change your currency setting to Euros in format

A3. >LCCCCCCCCC (this will ensure that first character is a capital letter and rest can be letters or numbers but only 10 characters can be added)

A4. You would have a field called "Town" and a field called "balance". Create query by adding the all fields which you wish to appear in your query. In criteria row for "balance" type <=500 and in criteria row for "Town" type =London then run query.

Sorry can answer about anything else.

I'm getting a little stuck understanding the questions too.

I'm not sure what system is checking the inputs, like is it a excel database, access, mysql?

All I can do is point here http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access/HA100963121033.aspx and hope that contains something you need.
