I'm trying to publish a website to my internet domain name. I have the entire website set up, and after following the tutorials for publishing it, I clicked on the "Publish To Web" button. (I'm using WebPlus SE 1.0, by the way, to create my website)

Every time I try to publish it, it tries to connect and then brings up a box that says:
"FTP Error
An error has occured:
A connection with the server could not be established"

How do I get this published??? I really need my website up soon...

In order for you to publish a website you need a web host for your files, a domain name is just your web address if you dont have a web host you are like a man holding an address without a home.

so get a web host first there are free ones but they come with limitations, when you have a host you need to configure your ftp to connect to your web server and then place all your web files in your directory at the server.

check out this tutorial, but you have to scroll down coz the juicy part is down there...

Firewall.

Servers Firewall.

Password incompatibility.

Your server doesn't allow that program.

Your server requires the use of an ftp agent such as ftp commander(does that still exist?).

Your setting up your own server and port 80 is closed.

You have bad Mojo today and should try again later.

etc. those would be the most likely though.

Some web hosts require different ftp login information.

Of particular importance is the username.

For example: It could be just "username" or "username@yourdomain.com"

If this fails your hosting account may not be set up yet. Contact your host for support.

Make sure you enter the domain name and its FTP port correctly.
