PHP Installation - What do I need?

Question

I'm trying to install PHP5 on a web server and am having some problems getting it to work correctly. Some system information: we have MSSQL, IIS, run Server 2003, and have Native Client 2005. I saw there was a driver from Microsoft but it listed a requirement of Native Client 2008, which, to my understanding, we can't upgrade to right now. I've also seen mention of FastCGI in articles I've found regarding installing PHP on Windows Servers, but am unsure if this is needed. So my question is, what exactly do I need to install to get PHP up and running on this server?

Why don't you just download XAMPP? Its an entire package of PHP, MySQL, and appache all rolled into one and its much easier to maintain.

M$ has a big problem cutting out open sourced solutions that compete with thier commercial products.



That is why they went to a new file format in office 2007 only to find out office 2003 wouldn't open it as well as OO.



As far as a web server goes I find a Linux distro is much easier stable and free.
