can i host a web site with one company (host) but have the domain name hosted with another host?

I have brought two domain names (.co.uk and .com) but I want to host one website with one host and leave the domain names with the host that I brought them from. I think I can re-direct the domain names to the wobsite but I am not sure how this all works!!!

Yes. Check with your website hosting company to get the name servers they want you to use. Then switch the name server information at your domain name registrar. This will forward the domain name to your website hosting company. Very easy to do.

On the domain that you want to have separately from the domain name registration site. At that domain you can transfer the one name you want (or both) as your registered name. You just tell them where the name is parked and they will tell you how to transfer it across.
