Setting up a Web site is very easy and if you want to do it for free just go to http://www.freewebs.com (or any of the most popular free hosts listed below).

If you have specific requirements (e.g. your own domain) then there are a few things you will need to do to prepare to build your site.

1) You should learn HTML and you can for free at http://www.w3schools.com/

2) You will need an HTML editor unless your are proficient in HTML and can use notepad. Adobe Dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/ is the best and you can download a free trial. The best free one is NVU: http://www.nvu.com/

3) Then you need to find a host and if you are willing to pay a nominal fee then http://www.godaddy.com would be your best option.

OK, if you happen to REALLY desire to layout and create your possess internet site from scratch and you have got very little programming revel in, then utilising WYSIGYG program is your first-rate guess. If you have already got entry to FrontPage, that's a well one, however there are a few on-line choices to be had, despite the fact that they mostly come tied in with web hosting. Decide on how a lot you desire to pay, uncover your area title and purchase it, uncover wherein you desire to host your web page. You can uncover many choices wherein the web hosting is loose as much as a highest measurement - seek Google or equivalent for this. Then prefer whether or not you desire a professionally designed internet site or no longer, for this you'll be able to both uncover a capable pal who will do it loose/affordably, a Computer measure scholar who demands the train, a internet dressmaker/developer who is probably not low priced however a minimum of you'll get a tight web page. A reliable webdesigner will likely be equipped to endorse you at the first-rate method to achive YOUR standards for your funds and what is extra, furnish a renovation and replace carrier as good. Otherwise, get your self a couple of well books and be taught HTML, Javascript, CSS and if you happen to desire a database at the back of the web page a CGI language, this will likely be found through your host server, with regards to Windows some thing like ASP with both an Access or SQLServer database, with regards to Unix or Linux, some thing like Perl, PHP or C with a MySQL database will do the process. Hope this is helping!

Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below.

If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a "homepage" which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool which is totally free. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage by FTPing your webpages authored in Notepad, Word, FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc.

Nevertheless, the "homepage" URL is likely to be "http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe... name" and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., "mydomain.com" which allows you to link any registered domain name to "mask" another website. For example, should you type in the "domain name," you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.

When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.

Good luck!

If you want something simple just start a blog. You can do a lot of great things with something like Wordpress. Go here: http://wordpress.com/ and sign up for a free account. After you get setup you can try out different templates and plugins. Check out their help section for videos and articles on how to do everything. Templates allow you to change the look and feel of your site without actually needing to do anything other than installing a new template. Plugins allow you to add things like calendars, videos, slide shows, etc to your site just by installing them.

Oh check out these sites that all use wordpress for an idea of the things you can do: http://www.ndesign-studio.com/blog/wordpress/best-wordpress-sites/

If you want to have your own domain like myjurassicparksite.com instead of myjurassicparksite.wordpress.com then you need to buy a domain from someone like BlueHost (http://www.bluehost.com/). It's only like $7 a month but if you aren't do anything to seriously just try out wordpress's free hosting.
