what browser are you using at home

check your developer tools settings

but it sounds like you do not have the html editing setting correctly applied under internet options - if you want to edit with notepad, make sure notepad is set as the html editing program, try looking at that first

1.) Open your .html website using Internet Explorer

2.) Goto: View > View Source

3.) Edit the source code and save it

4.) Refresh website.

TIP: ALT + TAB will allow you to switch quickly between your source code and website.

Are you using Mozilla firefox at home? Firefox does not allow you to edit the pages whose source you view.
