FTP login are normally different from the site login. If you go to godaddy's website you should be able to login there. On the top right they have a sign in section. After this look for something similar to control panel or hosting. Normally that is where all the files are stored. I haven't used godaddy in a few years so I don't remember the exact location. If you do use FTP you will need a different login and password.

Ok, I'm on MacOS... have downloaded FireFTP. I guess that's where I'm stuck. When I put the username and password in, and hit connect... nothing shows up, nor do I get an error message.

you need an FTP client to connect to the site to download all the files on the site.

Microsoft has design software that offers an ftp feature. web expressions 4 is free software. you need the ftp connection to the host server space, the client account name and password. set up the ftp connection and than connect to the godaddy host server the files on the server will be synced to yours as well if you choose.

look up godaddy ftp access to web hosting account to find the ftp address.

To download a website from a webhost you need the FTP credentials. Then you transfer them using FTP (using an FTP program).
