How can i update my java system?

I'm trying to update my java by downloading from the java site and it comes up saying binary stopped. I try again and its coming up saying file is corrupted.

Computer is a Toshiba satellite p850/04p
Just bought 2 days ago so its brand new
Windows 7 64 bit operating system

Anymore info needed just ask

What about other files?

I mean are you able to download other files? If not, then some problem with our internet/firewall settings.

go to start menu search box n type 'services' right click run as administrator....check whether related service such as windows installer n such is turned on...if its not click start,..hope this helps...
