Currently studying a database module at university and can't seem to connect to the oracle database. I have been successful using PuTTY to be able to use sqlplus. But when i try to connect using toad i get the following error: "ORA-12514 not found; product=RDBMS80; facility=ORA". I have oracle lite installed locally.

Even if you have Oracle Lite installed, you still need the Oracle client software to access it.
