How to I lock the stroke sizes in Adobe Illustrator when resizing images?

Question

when I massively resize and image I need strokes to stay the same thickness in proportion to the shapes.

Please help!

I would say lock any layers that have the stroke you need to keep. You could also choose the lock object command for each stroke you want to lock. Are you using CS2 or CS3? Any way it should be the same for both. If you need any more help just email me. Im a graphic design student and all we use is computer design programs.

Here is anothe option you could investigate.



Select an object. Go to your top menu bar--"Object"--"Transform"--"Scale..."



You will get the Scale % tool popup menu.

Look at the bottom part in the "Options" section at the "Scale Strokes & Effects".



If this option is checked ON it WILL scale all the stroke pt thicknesses that you have select and proportionally scale these stroke pt thicknesses along with the other graphical elements you have selected and are scaling either by manual or % scaling.



If this option is checked OFF your stroke pt thickness will remain the same pt thickness you had originally no matter how large/small you either manually or % scale up/down your graphic elements.



To keep the checked/unchecked setting you need to hit the okay button. So, if you are manually scaling just put in 100% and the image will remain same size but your settings are kept.

you could aways resize the image back; yet there's a lost of determination, till you stored in some type of vector format (SVG, PostScript,EPS, WMF, etc) EDIT: seems such as you're out of success: "Photoshop is a pixel-based photograph editor, in assessment to courses alongside with Macromedia FreeHand (now defunct), Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape or CorelDraw, that are vector-based photograph editors." -- Wikipedia
