I am trying to add a smiley face icon within the subject line of an html email it is written ☺

however when i send the email the recipient sees the code like you do now, not icon, I have changed the char-set type before to allow characters to work correctly, can this be done to work with smiley faces? as i have done stars in the past and they all came out fine any help would be appreciated. :D

It all depends on the 'character set' that the OS / program is using to whether or not a character like that is shown correctly, seeing the code is possibly some form of conversion being done which ruins it. usually all you see is a square if the character isn't supported.

It's best to avoid special characters because everyone's system is different ☻

First, "understanding pcs" will no longer help a lot. How do they subscribe interior the 1st place? Or is it in basic terms a catalogue which you have have been given manually further the addresses to by way of the years?

Make sure that they other person has their browser updated to the latest version and that they aren't using IE because frankly IE sucks balls.
