I want to create a Flash based website but that would make search engine indexing more difficult.

I havent seen anywhere yet but is it ok to create a welcome page (index.html) where you could chose between HTML and Flash based webpages? In this case I would still have a number of HTML pages that can be read by Google and alike.

As said above, avoid Flash at all costs if you site is anything "serious".

If you can't avoid it:

Run your flash until it ends, then make a screen capture. Edit it in Photoshop: you get the final image as a jpeg.

Use that jpeg in your index.html, but:

1. Pre-load the flash in javascript.

2. use : when the page has fully loaded, the js_flash function is called, that will REPLACE the static image (jpg) with the flash.

(Still not a very good idea)

Another option is to split your flash (much more complicated): it will load the flash FRAME and the fram only, then will STREAM the contents (so you do not have to wait to get your flash started...)

However, very few Flash "experts" know how to do that...

html is often going on on the information superhighway and is textual content depending, so the full web page is made out from textual content code. Flash is a particular information superhighway format that facilitates very interactive and dynamic web content with a lot of animation and stuff. that is going to look better acceptable quite some the time, yet might want to also be larger, which potential the loading time might want to be slower if u're on a sluggish connection. those pages are made from Adobe Flash (earlier typical as Macromedia Flash)

Dude, just skip the idea of using Flash. Go for a single HTML one. You can make it look really great using things like jquery.
