No, you can do that optionally.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BH web hosting which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 4 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.

Absolutely not - in fact, you are better off if you keep your domain registration separate in my opinion. If you use a separate registration service, you get the option to easily change your hosting service or host server whenever you want - you can also control email options yourself (either sending them to your hosting service or dealing with them through your registration service or a third party. This works even better when you have multiple domains.

I use a couple of different registration services (depending on the type of domain) and an unlimited hosting package from 'webhostingpad' - more about this on the link below...

No. You don't need to host your website in the company from where you buy domain name. You can buy a domain name from a service provider and host it in a different service provider.

But there are exceptions like in promotional programs - when you get some free stuffs.

For example, in http://www.runner99.com/

If you buy a Deluxe Hosting plan, you'll get one domain name of your choice free. In such case, you need to have the domain name and hosting from the same provider for at least 1 year.

No, but in most cases they force you too. So read the contract fully.
