Question:
Where can I find cheap web hosting?
2009-10-01 12:21:34 UTC
I don't need anything crazy, I need a domain and some good cheap web hosting. My site doesn't have a lot of stuff to put on it, I guess it will be more of a personal website.

Looked around and there are a bunch. I need some recommendations, maybe some info on the plans :)

If by cheap you mean less than $5 per month then there is a list at http://hostingscorecard.com/SharedLSu5-1.html

Each host is rated based on a minimum of 1000 independent user reviews/comments over the last 6 months. The ratings are 100% neutral and there is no cheating to give favored hosts an edge.

Well , there is hostgator , google host yahoo and godaddy.

But the most recommended and best web host so far is www.NetworkJuiceHosting.com ; Network Juice.

They now offer plans starting around $0.99/mo for a great amount of diskspace plus everything else unlimited. Plus they've manage to keep up 99% Uptime.

They have all features such as PHP5, java ,Cpanel , Fantastico ( allows you to auto install Blogging systems and CMS portals without wasting time) , Cron Job , Apache ,Unlimited Dadabase , ftp accounts and much more. Basically EVERYTHING! is supported.

There are other affordable plans as well in NetworkJuiceHosting.com.

Hostgator.com is also a great host , but there Uptime time is not so good. Also , customer service is very poor , Not to many features are supported.

Google.com not so sure , But i know there's lots of files they do not support , no Cpanel , and i don't know how come , but they have been receiving downtimes lately in their host servers.

yahoo , let me just say it's the worst web host ever ,you can't even host the amount of domains you want to host . Including FatCow.com. The downtime is way to much , and many files are un-compatible in fatcow for some reason.

To buy a domain , the most recommended site is godaddy , but not for it's hosting!! I Tell you !!!.

For a Great Affordable web host with maximum features , the most recommended web host is www.NetworkJuiceHosting.com . ; Network Juice Hosting.

You are getting your answers from an expert , and yes I have tried all these web host.

That's all I got to say mate ;)

Web hosting can be a significant expense for anyone. When you are looking for Web hosting online there are so many to choose from that it can be an overwhelming task to try to tone it down to a handful to consider. Did you know that there are some Web hosting providers that cost less than 5 dollars a month and you get the same reliability and customer support (if not better) as the most expensive Web hosting companies? Take a look at http://www.inexpensive-web-hosting.com

There you will find a guide to finding the best inexpensive Web hosting providers. These Web hosts offer unlimited Web hosting space, unlimited disk transfer, unlimited databases, and the leading control panels with easy Website builders, templates, and they even offer free Google and Yahoo ad credits.

Good luck,

Don't trust dishonest claims like "Best web hosting only $1 /month" or "Get the cheapest web hosting without sacrificing quality and features!!". Take into consideration that some hosting companies are cheating and lying to their customers. It is very important that your service be uptime (functioning and available for use) . It means you can access your account whenever you want to update your web pages, and users can enter your website whenever they refer to your site address. If your hosting service is not uptime it can be catastrophic!

If your website is not a business site (is personal), you can also refer to this cheap, reliable service:

http://www.goldpuma.com

GP is the lowest cost service which is full-featured and really works for you ($3.99 /month). They accept monthly payments. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 10 months now, and have never had a single problem with them.

You can also take a look at:

($3.95 /month)

Hope this helped.

Depending on what you want to do, you can probably get this for free.

Not the domain, but the hosting. If you want a top level domain, (www.whatever.com rather than www.somehost.com/yoursite) you need to pay for it, but it's like $20 tops for a year.

As for storage and hosting.

http://www.free-webhosts.com/ <- it's a list.. there is ususally a catch.

as for cheap... godaddy I have found is really good, Their DNS user interface is second to none, and the hosting is as little as $5 a month..

or....

You can host your own site off of your own computer using dynamic DNS or a static IP...

I've used www.freewebs.com for a lonnng time without problems. No popups, just a small link to them for free hosting.

I got bored with that though and turned an old PC into a web server and host my own website now. I bought the domain from godaddy.com for about $7/year.

If you have the hardware I'd suggest doing the same.

Have you checked out Microsoft Office Live Small Business? The web building function is template based so you can design your website without knowing any code. Best of all Small Business websites are affordable (as little as $15 a year) and ad free!

winninghosting.com has a super low price and it's not a promotion (a lot of low prices you see require that you buy a ton of months in advance). $4.95/mo with no setup fees, money-back guarantee, cancel at any time with no penalties. You get fast, responsive servers and a super helpful staff. That's pretty much the best deal you'll find all around.
