Godaddy is notoriously bad at hosting - to include hosting support. There are many good hosting companies to go to like Hostgator and Bluehost. My recommendation is Hostgator.
To see if your site itself is the problem, go to this site and see if you have too many, or some extraordinarily large page objects: http://www.uptrends.com/aspx/free-html-site-page-load-check-tool.aspx
If you do then fix that because it that will directly affect your site performance to include search engine rankings. If you do Google pay per click advertising then it will also directly affect the cost of your ads. Google penalizes you monetarily for slow page load times.
In short, slow websites will ultimately cost you money no matter how you look at it.
Lastly, after you move hosting, and assuming you go to Hostgator, set your website up in CloudFlare. That can take a 5 second page load time to less than 1 or 2 seconds. Very compelling. Hostgator tech support (24 hour phone, email and chat) will always be able to help you.
I have used Cloudflare and I highly recommend it, for many reasons. Just go to http://cloudflare.com and see how they can benefit your site - at no cost.
