Oracle is a database system, similar to MySQL, Postgres and such. You can find good information about it on the Oracle website.

Briefly, there are two major branches of computer programming. One being databases (Oracle, and others) and event-driven scripting. Oracle is an innovative company with SQL. SQL can be as involved as any other computer language. Otherwise, to be an Oracle guru would require administrative tasks on networked machines.

Google for "oracle tutorial" and there are lots of online choices. SQL is the heart of everything Oracle.

Oracle is a database used to store data in a tabular format. It uses the SQL as query lang. We can divide oracle as SQL and PL/SQL. PL/SQL is for advanced oracle backend programmers.
