I would like to create a gossip blog site, similiar to Perez Hilton or TMZ, and I can't figure out how to create it where the readers can comment on each article I post. If you go to any gossip or news site, they have an article, and then the reader comments underneath each article individually.

Where would I go to find that option? I haven't created it yet, so I'll need a domain name, web hosting, etc... but I really would like to find the place that will allow the commentary, as that will be a huge part of my site. And I don't want to start it on a blogsite, I would like my own site. Thanks in advance!

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website/weblog. If you are going to create your blog website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex: www.yahoo.com). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your blog online at your purchased domain name.

If you’re going to start your blog at your own domain with different pages, you need a web host providing wordpress.

Take a look at:

There you can reach the three reputable companies that are leaders in the blog/wordpress website hosting industry.

Another useful link:

There you can find a step-by-step guide to start your website.

Hope this helps.

Get a domain and a hosting first. Just make sure your server is "LAMP" type, with php and mysql.

The, go to http://www.web2coders.com and download the free "miniblog" or "chat" scripts.

They contain all the basics you need.

Since they are not "formatted" with fancy CSS, you can give them the shape you want.

(They use AJAX to have immediate update without refresh).

You can, of course, try Wordpress, but this is an IDE type of program: it will NOT teach you to code, and you will STILL have to learn Wordpress! (learning two things instead of one)

wordpress is probably your best bet.

you can try it out for free on wordpress.com; however, you can also use wordpress on your own domain and server. godaddy for example, has an auto-install feature that will set it up for you. wordpress is made for commenting on articles!!! and it's very customisable, provided you are willing to learn a little html. if not though, there are TONS of free wordpress themes (designs) out there you can download and use.
