I had just gotten the adobe photoshop cs5 and just finished the installation process but cant seem to find illustrator. The woman at OfficeMax had told me that adobe illustrator is not sold by its self in stores but that this package included everything, and to be doubly sure, i asked her again if it had illustrator and she guarenteed me that it did. Unless im completely clueless and just didn't install it correctly or am not looking in the right place, the woman didn't know what she was talking about. Can anyone tell me if what i got is what i was looking for? And if its not, can i return it eventhough i had already installed it?

I used to work at OfficeMax so this is what you can do

When you go to the store, simply ask to talk to a manager, then explain to them that the associate who you spoke with who sold you the product gave you misleading information, and the product that you bought did not include the features that the associate claimed it came with. Im 90% sure they will refund your money (via an in store gift card), OfficeMax is really lenient when it comes to associate error

But if you want to try your luck in just simply returning the software straight up, you can do that aswell, but they always check the software before they do returns, so your best bet is to just talk to a manager and explain your situation

If it's Photoshop CS5 alone, then no, you don't have Illustrator. If you bought one of the Adobe CS bundles, like Design, Web, or Production Premium, Design Standard, or the master collection then yes, you'll be able to install Illustrator CS5. Usually when it installs it installs everything at once, so if its one of those bundles, then Illustrator should be installed and you just need to find it. If it's not and its one of those bundles, try reinstalling it, but if it its not one of those bundles, and it's clearly the photoshop only edition, you're in a mess. Usually, once you've opened the package and installed the software, you generally can't return the software. If that's the case you'll need to deal with the store.

Should the worse case happen, and you still need to buy a copy of Illustrator, Download the demo from Adobe, install it, and then purchase the licence code online

layout would be a kit of Adobe's "ingenious Suite" (CS) version 5 classes. this could comprise Photoshop CS5 and different CS5 classes like InDesign or Illustrator. The classes will in all possibility no longer be any diverse, even although lots of the Suites (bundles) comprise 'prolonged' variations of Photoshop. i do no longer know what the version between Photoshop CS5 ordinary and Photoshop CS5 prolonged is, yet this is probably no longer the subject.... the subject is in spite of in case you prefer/want the different classes interior the Suite/kit or no longer. in case you basically prefer Photoshop, then basically get that and forget approximately with regard to the Desigm Suite. one ingredient to observe is that the classes interior the Suite(s) are designed to combine with one yet another. so they are seperate classes, yet they are tied inclusive of Adobe Bridge and characteristic inter-operable record codecs and issues like that, so the Suite is basically like a huge blended software, kinda.

No. Illustrator is a separate product.

To return: put everything exactly how you had it. Make it look as un-opened as possible. Take it back to the store, and then GTF out of there before they realize it's been opened. Not illegal.
