Okay I need to get the domain name and hosting sorted out. How would I go about doing this? Do I get them to buy the domain and hosting or could I do it for them. And if you can how would I do this>
Thanks

It depends on how you want to conduct business.
You can buy a re-seller hosting account and charge your clients a monthly fee for hosting and maintenance on their sites. This will give you full control over any site you build and the client won't be able to manipulate or change anything outside of your doing. You will pay a monthly fee to the hosting company or an annual amount of about $240+. This option might be a hassle if you do not collect your fees upfront/for the year and decide to do a monthly fee instead. You will also be obligated to work on their issues since you are controlling every aspect of their site.
OR
You can have them purchase their own hosting/domain package and grant you permissions to create/edit their site. This way you can charge a fee each time you are asked to perform a certain task for them. This way gives you and the client a little more freedom to do as you please

Are you charging them? web designers usuallly include the cost of hosting/domain in the package.. you have to find a hosting service and there are so many offering different things and prices... only you can know which one is best suited for that website.. here's a few of the most popular web hosting companies...

Well you can either buy them and include it in the final bill or just get them to buy them, for a domain I like this site NameCheap.com, for a hosting since it seems like you are not used to do this I suggest HostGator, they are really friendly and easy to use, now as you are creating the site you can either go thru programming to create the page or you can buy a ready template and just plug in the info then upload your site to the hosting company, I will provide you with few links that can show you the best WordPress themes and another one to show you how you upload your site and another one to get the hosting as cheap as it could be.
Good Luck.

I personally recommend bluehost at first. Because they give first domain for free. And they have one plan.No limited trash plans like other hosts. All functions are unlimited. Webspace, traffic, email accounts, domain names you can use, mysql databases. Also nice customer support for 7/24. It is not that expensive at the same time. Check out source link for review and discount. Good luck with your site
