I don't think that's necessary, though I do think HTML, CSS and JavaScript or VBscript would come in handy.

perl is a very powerful language and can build huge dynamic websites. Perl is perhaps not the best choice for a first language, though. It is a bit cryptic.



If you are going the perl route, consider using a web framework to help. This will help you get up and running quickly and provide a good design out of the box.

Go with PHP it is a more commonly used scripting language. Most programmers user php these days.



I have some perl scripts now that I need updated but can't find any perl programmers to do it.

Its not necessary but its recommended to build a website using perl ..for mine i prefer fast domain webhosting

If you want dynamic content go with PHP with a bit of JavaScript. Perl is nice for adding small pieces of dynamic content to your site.
