I recently started a website and would like to incorporate our logo into the background but I don't want the image background to remain white against the colored page. What can I do?

You'll have to edit the picture in a graphics editor. It will be difficult for it to look nice without a decent graphics editor. A decent one that is free is GIMP.

I use Paint Shop Pro (commercial program). If you want, send an the image to scathed(a)yahoo.com, and I'll send it back to you as a transparent image.

Namaste, You can just do it in photoshop, but if you have 5d, that means you want to become a serious shooter one day and want to learn the right way . The lager the apature, the less the depth of field. So you set the camera to apature priority mode and choose a wide apature (LOW apature number) and let the camera select the speed. The advanced answer would include the fact that the background will probably be brighter than your subject, so spot meter off the face of your subject or bracket your exposures. good luck with school and with your hobby! Photography can take you to some really interesting places all over the world and put you in some really awesome situations that you'll not only remember forever, but also have proof that you were there. EDIT: LOL Jay, I agree! Pilli, your equipment is way better than mine!

You can use Photoshop CS2 to erase the background of your logo. Use the magic eraser tool to erase the background. Then re-save your image as a jpg file and insert in your web page. Your web page background should show through.
