Actually, if you've got Microsoft Office, then Microsoft Photo Editor would have been installed on your comp along with it. You can use that. Open the photo in that, File--> Save as -->. File type - select jpeg and save it.

And hey, usually digital cameras store pictures in the jpeg format already..... just for your information.

Open your photo Editor then follow these steps: File > Save As > Type in the filename on the File Name: box > Choose JPEG (*.jpg, *.jpeg, *.jpe, *.jfif) from the Save As Type list. Or.. View your images as filmstrip then as you reach the picture you wanted to convert, click on the disk icon then choose Save As... and choose the JPEG option.

Converter "AnyToJpeg" allows you to convert to jpeg-format any image and edit it by means of such function as rotating, stretch, crop, border, etc. It is easy to use and does not require any special skills. "AnyToJpeg" helps you to convert easily dozens of files and work them up according to one scheme using simple and quite understandable interface of the program.Frequently used schemes can be stored as a separate file and loaded when necessary.

I use IrfanView for all of my pic conversion needs. Easy to use, and it's free for non-commercial use. Even has batch conversion for a whole bunch of files in one swoop.
