Help re: Page layout on MS Word?

I hope someone out there can figure out what my problem is and give me some advice...Thanks!
My Word page layout no longer shows the whole page on the screen, it starts where the margin starts. So, if I set the top margin to 1" that is where the cursor is and the page begins - the one inch margin is "hidden" above the cursor, same with the bottom margin. I want the page to show the whole layout, so I can judge the white space visually. I can now only do this in preview. I've tried the basics to fix it - switching layout views, toolbars, options etc but I can't figure it out. Have I changed a setting somehow, or is this a new default from Microsoft? It's driving me nutty. Thanks for your help!

If you hover your mouse pointer at the top of the screen (where the document meets the toolbars) you will see a small black double-headed arrow. Click and you will get the option to view the top margin.

I've had this happen to me before, but I can't remember which pc I was on, or if it was ever resolved.. I think it went away on its own, the same way it started.



I would say, keep playing with the layouts, and try zooming out (when it's in print layout, go to view > zoom > whole page).



And have you tried rebooting?



I can tell you it's not the new default. Maybe just a conspiracy to make us all lose our minds!
