I am looking for a Web Hosting company, that is inexpensive, easy to use for setting up a webpage, but that also allows you to edit it from a Mac (Firefox, Chrome or Safari). I checked out GoDaddy but they are only PC and Linux friendly, and I was looking at intuit.com, but $20US/Month is expensive.

I'm looking for something that will allow me to accept credit card and debit payments via Paypal as well/Shopping Cart.

Thanks! Bonus Points if they're Canadian or accept payment in CAD

I recommend one of these: http://www.top3hosts.com

iPage has the best offer right now.

Their standard price is $84/year ($6.95) but they have

a 50% sale, one year of hosting for $42.00.

Their plan includes:

Unlimited disk space

Unlimited bandwidth

Free domain name

Price: $42/year ($3.50)

They have one of the most popular hosting platforms, which currently hosts over a million websites. They're also one of the oldest hosting companies, founded in 1998.

They include a free point & click online site builder so you can create a website without any programming (easily, just by drag and drop) or you could install Wordpress (they include easy, one click install from their control panel), choose a theme that you like, and start adding content.

They also have a great custom control panel with OneClick installs of all the popular software like Wordpress, Joomla, Forums, Chat, Galleries, Online stores (shopping carts) and a lot more.

P.S. They work great with Macs.

Go with a web hosting review site like http://www.mywebhostinghero.com/Cheap-Web-hosting.html and review several hosting companies. I think all hosting companies will let you edit with a Mac. Hosting companies just store data and it doesn't matter what you use to edit the data with Mac or PC.

You can try iPage which is Mac Friendly. You can rely only on some of the web hosting reviewing and ranking services. I was keen to register a domain name for myself. It was very difficult to find the right kind of information on web hosting providers. I read about Webhostingbreak.com and the reviews they do in a online magazine.

I've actually compared their recommendations with other reviewers and found their reviews very accurate. I finally settled for iPage web hosting and got a free domain name: http://www.webhostingbreak.com/ipage-domain-registration/. The web hosting company offers Unlimited Disk Space and Unlimited Monthly Transfer on Bandwidth. iPage is offering great discount offer on its domain & hosting services.

All web hosting companies will allow you to edit with a Mac. $20 a month is way too expensive! I use http://www.webhostingpad.com/5494.html which is only $1.99 a month and they offer a money back guarantee. I've used them for 3 years with no problems at all and I think its the best hosting deal available.

You don't edit websites on the site, you edit the site on your computer. So any host, even a Windows host, is "Mac-friendly".

The server the site runs on has nothing to do with your computer. (You will not find a web hosting company hosting on Macs - a Mac is just too expensive, and too bad a computer - to use to host a website.) GoDaddy is a good company, they've been in business a long time, so they won't disappear on you, they have great tech support and the price is reasonable. They have shopping carts (you don't use Paypal for business if you want to be taken seriously). Where the hosting site is located is totally irrelevant unless you plan on visiting their offices. They'll accept payment with any recognized credit card, Canadian, Albanian or Lunar. They don't care. (They'll bill your CC company in USD, your company will bill you in CAD.)

Every mac hosting company should be mac friendly. The only thing you need is a FTP Program like Transmit or Cyberduck to upload the files to the hoster.

GoDaddy should be fine, but other will work too as long as they support FTP or SFTP (which every hoster does).

SolidLeap.com is part canadian though they dont offer payment in CAD yet. I am sure they will soon though. They have a plan that is only 2.95 US a month. And the first month is only like a dollar with coupon code SL50OFF. Super great service as well. I would recommend them!!
