I am learning Visual Basic at the moment, it's a starting point, I am finding parts easy and hard but my patience will get me through this. If I ever become a very skilled programmer which languages are going to pay you the most. Python is a very good idea, I will learn that after visual basic. What do you think would pay most.

These others obviously don't know what whey are talking about.

The best paying languages are these:

Software - Java (mostly), C# (and a bit C++)

Websites: ASP.NET/PHP, SQL

Websites do not included HTML, CSS or the lot because that is designing not programming.

Hope this helps!

it incredibly relies upon, of direction. yet on the nicely-known, programming is considered to require greater skills, and a programmer is frequently paid greater beneficial than a tester. The words "utility engineer" could propose any engineering activity touching directly to utility, e.g. programmer, tester, equipment administrator, and so on.

"Which PROGRAMMER", not "which language"...

The best paid programmers are Senior Developers in Games ($150k+/year), but this means at least 15 years serious experience. Languages: usually C/C++ (mostly)

After, come White Hat Hackers, working for large consortiums to improve the securities on their systems, with a good $100k+/year. Again, this requires many, many years experience, in many, many languages.

After, come Senior Programmers, in any large companies, in any language. Again, 10+ years experience.

Below are the average programmers, any language, $20-$50k/year.

And, at the bottom, the juniors, with at least 2-3 years experience in any language.

And, below ground, web developers! :-)

Object oriented (OO) languages like Java and PHP are commonly used throughout the web. A common misunderstanding, JavaScript inst the same as Java, in fact their two totally different languages altogether. The more languages you learn, better the chances are of a higher salary position. Just be patient, it's like learning Chinese and Spanish simultaneously but profusely cryptic. Good luck!

C# is easy to learn.

C++ is harder but you will probably get paid more.

Knowing the language will not allow you to make more money, you need to specialize in a certain aspect of the language like network programming, 3d graphics programming, web development, Artificial Intelligence, Security, Automation ...

Most programmers know more than 3 languages. But specialize in a certain field.

I think they are The C++ Programmers, because it is the strongest programming language, microsoft itself use it to write its products in addition to that many programming languages are derivative from it. You can even write games by it.
