how can i read text from the internet to Visual C++ code?

i barely know Visual C++ so if someone can explain this in a very lay-man way that'd be super awesome. i am a 35 yo electrical engineer but have done little coding over my career and am self-taught in C. I learned FORTRAN in college and as soon as I graduated FORTRAN was removed from the curricula.
